I was raised in the Green Kalahari of South Africa, where the red sand and blue skies had no limits and where growing up wasn’t just a phase—it was a full-on survival course! My childhood adventures included mastering the fine art of stick architecture and constructing elaborate tractor highways.
After leaving the Kalahari, the traveling started. The world just seems so interesting to explore. My travels have taken me on a global scavenger hunt, from the tango-tastic streets of Argentina to the noodle-filled alleys of Thailand, and then a pizza detour in Italy. Each place added a new layer to my life’s adventure.
My artistic journey began about four years ago when a little bird “landed” on my page, and since then, I haven't looked back. Initially, my work had a whimsical quality, but it has since evolved into a more refined style of fine art. This journey has also deepened my appreciation for nature, particularly through botanical art, which reflects my passion for the natural world.
Through art, my love for birds has blossomed, and I find myself in daily awe of their beauty and behavior. I am continually learning, and I believe this process is endless. My focus has increasingly shifted towards avian subjects, merging art with bird biology into a lifelong passion. I aim to share this enchantment with anyone eager to listen and learn.
I teach nature journaling to both children and adults, hoping that one day my work with birds and art will lead to guided walks for bird enthusiasts, accompanied by journaling. I invite you to join me in exploring this magical world!
